Bearhill Husky

Bearhill Husky is a family owned and operated husky kennel located in the pristine wilderness location some 35 Km (40-minute drive) from Santa Claus Village that has been situated in the area since 2012.  

For anyone who is looking for a fun experience while you are visiting the Santa Claus Village or for someone who wishes to have a shorter ride, you can also join us for a thrilling ride at our Santa’s Husky Rides location directly in the Santa Claus Village.

We have extensive experience creating memorable husky adventures for groups, families and individuals. Good dog care, respect for our animals and the sustainability of our business are ethical principles we value highly. We believe that as a working kennel we should do better than just good!

At our main kennel near the beautiful Viiksjärvi lake, approximately 40 minutes from the Santa Claus Village, we offer unforgettable premium husky adventures all year around. Join us in the summer time for kennel visits or in the autumn time for exciting cart rides. During the winter time we offer many different types of tours, everyone will find the experience that they are looking for. We have programs and adventures suited for all capabilities and ages.

Have you been dreaming of mushing your own dog team? Our self-driven husky tours are perfect for that! With you driving your own dog sled we offer different lengths of tours, ranging from beginner- and family-friendly outings to longer journeys. These all share the thrill of learning to drive a dog sled yourself!

If you would prefer to sit back in the sled, relax, and just enjoy the ride then our musher-driven husky tours are the perfect choice for you. On these tours, a professional guide (musher) handles the sled and the dog team, while you sit comfortably as a passenger. Here we offer a 5Km husky ride including a kennel visit or a 10Km husky tour which includes drinks around a campfire.

Transfers from Rovaniemi center hotels and winter clothing are included in our tours to the Viiksjärvi kennel (exception: Running with the Pack). Our professional team will guide you safely through tours and tell you all about our amazing Alaskan huskies.
