On Wednesday 20th October 2021, winter arrived early with a massive snowfall at Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle (Rovaniemi, Lapland). In less than 24 hours, nature delivered more than 20 cm of snow!
This is the first real snow cover of this winter, so it’s still too early to say whether it will be the beginning of the winter’s permanent snow cover. However, according to the weather forecasts, temperatures could remain subzero at least until the end of October: https://www.foreca.com/100638936/Rovaniemi-Finland
The unexpected arrival of winter so early made everyone happy in Santa Claus Village, especially the reindeer of Santa Claus Reindeer Resort, who can now offer 400 m and 1000 m reindeer rides: https://www.santaclausreindeer.fi/winter/reindeer-rides-santa-village-rovaniemi/
