An adventurous new biking park next to Santa Claus Village – trails invite the whole family on a forest adventure

A new biking park called Santa’s Backyard Bike Trails was opened on Saturday 14 June 2025 near Santa Claus Village, at the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi. The park features easy and playful cycling trails for everyone who enjoys smooth and relaxed rides.

Four short and clearly marked mountain biking trails wind through the Elf Forest (Tonttumetsä) of Santa Claus Village. Three of them – Loiva, Hupi and Lysti – are one-way trails, while the two-way Luppo connects them all. The routes (0.5–1.5 km) pass through a magical woodland landscape with gently rolling terrain, smooth rock surfaces and stable gravel paths. The emphasis is on fun, movement and a touch of forest adventure – not on competition.

The new trails are smoothly connected to Ounasvaara Ski Stadium and the city centre of Rovaniemi via pedestrian and cycling paths, making them easily accessible for both locals and visitors.

The starting point of the new biking park is located right next to the official bus stop of Santa Claus Village, close to Santa Claus Holiday Village. The distance from the starting point to the four bike trails is about 800 metres. Visitors can rent bikes from the reception of Santa Claus Holiday Village or via its online store.
